I’ve been off the grid. Sorry! I’ll be back writing on here soon, but here’s what I’ve been up to. Maybe I’ll see you there? 👀
Either way, I love you all.
PRESSED at Caveat (NYC)
Tomorrow, Carmen Carigan and I are performing our two-person sketch comedy show at Caveat in the East Village. We’ve been lucky enough to take this goofy show to Chicago and DC this year, and we’re so happy to be back for another New York performance.
Not sure if you should go? Time Out called PRESSED the 10th Best Thing To Do This Weekend, placing us five spots below a singles event for sailors and even further below their number-one recommendation, “Parade of Ships.”1
Plus! Our director, Maggie Scudder, turns 30 at midnight. If you stick around long enough, you can watch her turn to dust and float away. Fun for the whole family!2
Rat Czar (NYC, but also online)
If you know one thing about Maggie Scudder, it’s that she looks exactly like New York City’s rat czar. That’s a real position that our mayor made up to… I don’t know, get rid of all the rats? Or die trying?
Maggie has written a five-episode web series answering those exact questions. She’s playing the rat czar herself, Harvey Guillén from What We Do In The Shadows is opposite her, and THEY are being directed by Ana Bretón.
Rat Czar has been such a labor of love by Maggie and Ana. I can’t wait for you to see this show. I’m assistant directing, and they let me pitch a few jokes.3
We’re in our final stages of crowdfunding, and we need your help expanding the crew to keep up with the all-star cast we’ve booked. If you have a few dollars to add, we would be eternally grateful! We might even send you a Rat Hat!4
That being said, The Met didn’t even make the list this year. Embarrassing for them!
Do not bring your kids to this show.
No word on if they will use the jokes. Maggie keeps saying “Just remember I own the final edit,” and Ana keep saying “That’s not true.”
If you don’t have a few dollars, we get it. Bananas really are ten dollars now.
